Day 8,9 and 10: Home

We woke up on Friday and came back across around noon. The weather was great and the cross really was nice.  Once we arrived we went back to Quarter Deck and stayed there.  After getting everything tide up and situated for the day we went swimming in the pool.  It was fun everyone had a good time.  When we were done with the pool we decided to go have a nice dinner downtown.  We ate at Trattoria del Santo for dinner and everything was great.

Saturday we had breakfast on the boat, cleaned up, and I went to take the dinghy and truck back to the public dock.
The walk back after the coffee shop was brutal it was so hot so early today.  After that we got the boat ready to go to Menominee to drop Peyton off.  We wanted to get some gas as we did not know what our complete plan was for the day.  This involved us having to wait in line at the gas dock for quite some time.  When you have to pump hundreds of gallons of fuel and there are only two pumps it takes a bit to work through the line of boats. It caused us to be a little late, Julie had to wait forty minutes for us.  I hope it did not delay them too bad.  There was a pretty nice park right there, so they had time to wear their kids out for the car ride back around the lake.

After dropping off Peyton we decided to go to chambers island to swim.  It was nice there the dogs and Pierce had a great time swimming.  Abby met some new friends, and is now diving off the boat on command.  Right when we were about to make our lupper (lunch/supper) we had a guy who was going up and down the shore warning of the major storm coming.  So with this news I turned on the weather band on the vhf radio and sure enough there was a big storm heading our way.  This meant I had to put the grill away and get ready to go. Good thing I did not light it!

The marina was hopping right after we got there as people were scrambling to get back in.  It was good that we got in when we did because we needed a slip assignment this takes a little bit to get.  We rode the storm out ate dinner and took showers.  We are now watching a movie with Pierce and are having a glass of chilled white wine with popcorn. Tomorrow we wake up and get the boat back on the trailer to go home.

On this trip according to the new chartplotter we have run 287.2 miles. I will follow up with a post of the map later.  The damn connection here sucks and keeps screwing up the map when I try to create it.
